IFORGED PERFORMANCE ALLOYS LAUNCHES NEW MODULAR WHEEL RIM COMPONENTS WITH IMPROVED ALLOY AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS
ANAHEIM, Calif., April. 18, 2007 – iForged Performance Alloys
launches a new series of aluminum rim components with improved alloy and manufacturing benefits.
The
new rim components feature a new contour, new superior aluminum alloy, and a new manufacturing process. The new components feature 6061 series aluminum with T6 heat treatment. Once the rim halves are formed, a final CNC operation creates a much more precise part when compared to traditional rolled spun forged barrels.
Using SMT Technology added strength is added over the traditional rolled spun forged sheet barrels. The combination of improved alloy and design increases strength as well as offering more protection from impact and/or collision. The overall shape of the rim is also improved confirming to the strict guidelines standards of the Tire and Rim Association.
The new parts unique to iForged are being manufactured in 19", 20", 21" and 22" sizes and are phasing in across all of iForged 3 Piece Modular wheel lineups.
